Leaf Rapids in Northern Manitoba is originally a mining town due to a large copper and zinc discovery in 1969, which led to the rather fast creation of Leaf Rapids infrastructure in infrastructure in 1976.

Leaf Rapids has a 19,509 sq. m (210,000 sq. ft.) Town Centre Complex with stores, restaurants, school, library, gymnasium, theatre, Exhibition Centre, healthcare and municipal offices. Outside is a nine hole golf course, a baseball diamond and tennis court.

Even though Leaf Rapids is about 1000 km (620 mi.) north of Winnipeg, there are beaches, lakes in which you can fish, golfing, hiking and hunting.  The National Exhibition Centre is a museum open year round that provides exposure to Canada's human, natural, scientific and artistic heritage.

Leaf Rapids accommodations includes lodges, bed and breakfasts and vacation rentals.

Our picturesque camp consists of three winterized waterfront cabins, all overlooking the views of the Churchill River. Each cabin is meticulously maintained and will handle the cooking and sleeping accommodations of six people and can be wood heated and equipped with a 4-piece bathroom, deck, BBQ, kitchen, electric fridge and stove. All cottages face the waters edge to enjoy the Aurora Borealis.
