Churchill is the oldest community in Manitoba, as it has been the site of a Hudson's Bay Company trading post since 1717. Most visitors come to Churchill to see the world's largest concentration of Polar Bears, the only place they can be observed in the wild. Boat tours are offered to get a closer look at the bears, and at local seals and beluga whales.

The history of the area can be discovered through the Cape Merry National Historic Site, featuring a battery, canon, and powder magazine, or the Parks Canada Visitor Centre, with presentations on the history of Northern Manitoba. The city also offers one of the most brilliant displays of the aurora borealis (Northern Lights). Because of its extreme location, Churchill is only accessible by plane or by train, but those who make the trip are never disappointed - book your stay today!
