Winnipeg Beach was once a booming tourist destination. Thirty thousand people would arrive each summer via train to the amusement park, boardwalk, pier, and four major hotels at the beach. When the CPR service to the area ended in 1961, the glory days ended, however the waterfront park built by the Government is beautiful and provides countless recreational opportunities.
